How can something so plain and simple be so misunderstood? She said I didn’t care? What the hell was she thinking? Again he took her side? Why are my words being made to seem so dehumanize? In fact I swear I didn’t say much at all? Yet was over-ruled to seem nasty, offensive and cruel? Got lectured on how she’s had it so rough? I’m so tough?
Get real you fool! She’s got you wrapped underneath her pitiful stool. She’ll step on you as soon as she’s in need of getting high. Why? Oh why? Do you choose to wear those scales on your eyes? Lies I tell you lies and I am tired of feeling wicked in your eyes. She better get smart she better wise up. She thinking there’s trouble? She’s got no clue!
IT’S A TERRIBLE INJUSTICE when you love someone so much! Don’t let it happen to you. Love and giving only breaks you in two. Kisses and slaps you at the same time. Be dehumanizing and look like a fool, its better then being accused of what’s not true.!!!
So lately I’ve been thinking about King Solomon quite a bit. As He was the wisest man who ever lived on the face of the earth as G_d Himself gave him the gift of wisdom.
Probably because I find myself troubled lately as my daughter whom I love more than life seems to suddenly not give two cents about anything I have to say. Granted she is 24 years of age and yes I understand she’s an adult.
I’d even go so far as to say she doesn’t have to take any of my advice at this age. However what has me troubled is that she doesn’t even care to hear what I say because she claims she already knows what I am going to say before I say it. Which I doubt. – Might come close to it but even so, she hushes me up with her actions before I even speak a word.
Then later sends me a text saying she didn’t mean to be rude to me, it’s just that my words hurt her feelings so she rather not listen to them.
Troubled and looking for some kind of guidance my thoughts therefore are those towards King Solomon since he was granted a heart of understanding and has many words of wisdom that included wealth, and power.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the story; Solomon was the son of King David, of Israel. Solomon was appointed King right before his father died when he was only 12 years old. Shortly after that, God appeared to him in a dream as the boy was troubled thinking he couldn’t live up to his father’s greatness.
In his dream God tells the boy he will grant him a wish and he could ask for anything he wants.
To which Solomon say’s: “I am but a small child … Give therefore your servant an understanding heart to judge your people.
His request pleases God so much that he tells him,”Because you have not requested riches and honor but only that which would benefit all the people, I will give you not only an
understanding heart like none other before or after you … but also
riches and honor like no other king in your days.” (1 Kings 3:7-13)
And He did, he became the wisest of all men, not just Torah “wisdom” but secular knowledge of science and more.
Solomon also built the Temple in Jerusalem and reigned over Israel’s golden age.
THEN the idea came to me.
If she won’t listen to anything I have to say and is big on texting, then what I am going to do is text her one of King Solomon’s Proverbs each day.
And so the texting begins, one Proverb daily at a time…
The way of fools seems right to them,
but the wise listen to advice.
Fools show their annoyance at once,
but the prudent overlook an insult.
The wise in heart accept commands,
but a chattering fool comes to ruin.
Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life,
but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.
Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.
“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
Our family dog “Flint” for some strange reason totally freaks when it starts to rain. Thunderstorms bring him to sheer panic and his anxiety level can get so high that he gets totally out of control.
Two days ago my son left him outside and text me saying “Mom, I left Flint outside because he was all full of mud. I’ll be back in 2 hours and will give him a bath when I get home. Just letting you know so you won’t let him in.
I text him back and said…OK, n/p 😉
Now, when this happened it was clear and sunny but the day before it had been raining off and on very lightly so thats why there was mud outside and I guess the dog just decided to play in it as he does like to roll around the ground most of the time when he’s outside.
An hour later out of no where it starts to rain pretty heavily to include thunder and lighting and hail.
I wasn’t home yet and called home to see if Flint was back inside and ok since he freaks when this happens so much that you practically have to hold him down and reassure the dog its going to be ok because he’s terrified of storms.
But no one answers at home, and my son doesn’t pick up either.
After a few attempts my husband answers the phone and the conversation goes like this:
Me: Honey is Flint inside the house?
Him: I sure hope so I am just pulling in now.
Me: Andy left him outside b/c he was muddy and I am sure he didn’t know it was going to rain so bad. I’m worried about him b/c of the storm, he might be outside.
Him: Hold on let me check……….NO, he’s not here.
Me: Check under the beds
Him: He’s not in the house I would know as he starts to break stuff and gets very loud as you know.
Me: Oh my gosh, can you see him outside?
Him: NO, and I can’t go out there right now the rain is really bad and its still hailing over here. But don’t worry he must be under the deck.
Me: I sure hope so. : / I sure hope he didn’t have a heart attack under there as I bet he was totally freaked out with the storm.
An hour later
Daughter calls: Mom we can’t find Flint, he’s missing and it looks like he ate through the fence and got out.
Me: What do you mean he ate through the wooden fence?
Daughter: He actually made a hole through the wooden fence and got out. We are all looking for him on foot.
Me: I wish I was there to help look for him but I can’t leave at this time.
Daughter: We’re all walking the neighborhood with flashlights.
A few hours later.
Daughter: Mom we didn’t find him and I am sad. He’s a good dog and I’m worried he will be hit by a car since he loves to run after them. 😦
Me: I’m worried too but hopefully he’ll show up soon. 😦
That night I realized just how much I loved this mutt especially since we had just lost my own little beloved “Mason“ whom I wrote about a little over a month ago.
I couldn’t help thinking how powerful our words can be at times as when Mason passed away I remember being so upset I spoke the words “I don’t want anymore dogs or any more pets as its to painful when something unexpected happens to them.”
And now, Flint was missing.
Next morning we all went looking for him with no success.
But last night he showed up barking outside my daughters window and she went to go check and he was back 🙂
I can’t tell you how relieved and happy we all were to have him back home.
Flint is a very unique dog.
He’s not a good looking dog and in fact people usually stop and stair at him as he’s a bit scary looking. However, if I had to define him in a single word the word would be “Noble”.
There he stood staring back at me a look so deep it enticed me.
Shy at first I turned and looked away.
Who was he to do this to me?
What the hell am I thinking no time to debate.
I liked it of course he was so attractive.
I must be proactive.
I must turn around once more where he stood.
As I glanced the room entranced quickly drawing him near.
So fast in fact I took a step back…”ouch” …and just like that …there he stood smiling back at me.
“Checkmate my dear” he whispered in my ear. “No hunt is needed not now or ever it’s meant as a present for us”.
A captured chick awaiting the fox, I thought?
Perhaps? This trap might collapse I gasped.
I better take cover from this would be lover.
Before I could think his hand reached for mine.
Romance quickly danced and played entwined so refined in my mind.
His unshaved skin softly gazed around my chin he whispered and deeply said: “Every star needs a sky, it’s no wonder I finally found mine in your eyes”.
Escape?
Absurd!
Too late!!
I took the bait!
His sexual apple was blamefully mine.
Sought out?
No, I was caught!
“Heroism my dear its crystal clear come take me in have no fear.”
I suppose I should propose the night is young lets take it slow?
Who am I kidding he started kissing
Oh wait…. you missed a spot!
Oh my maestro I’m heading towards the sphere on which celestial bodies appear.
Oh and the stars? I see them; seven to be exact.
He smiled, “only seven”? he asked. Well… lets not forget sevens the most perfect number in heaven.
We both laughed.
It wasn’t just love it was fun,
we both needed that.
Love at first sight a moment in time,
Sometimes it’s just right!
A Satisfying scent, can’t you tell? It’s captured me in its spell!
What are you feeling?
A hunt coming on, she’s very appealing!
Wait ………..> where are you going?
To flavor my treat, ready look she’s budding!
How does it make you feel? Alive ready to THRIVE!
We really aren’t that much alike, ….are we?
Animals of a different breed, indeed!
Well, maybe not so much we aren’t quite the cannibal?
How do you mean?
Animals are tangible, can be sentimental that’s quite actual!
No, you take and don’t look back, instinctively stimuli it’s harder to let go, our kill is never for our thrill. It’s goodwill not quite the same skill when we get our fill.
